On one of Figure Eight Island’s protected coves, two couples and their families from Greensboro, North Carolina, share a reimagined 1980s cottage. The exterior facelift redefines the shingled roofline, introducing an upturned slope and an extended eyebrow dormer. The redesigned living space floats between views of the Atlantic Ocean and the Intracoastal Waterway. The reinterpreted floorplan supports pairs of master bedroom suites and children’s bunkrooms.
